Speakers & Workshops

This weekend we will have testimony and teaching from Kaela McKaig, and worship led by Curtis Tulman. We are also very happy to have two of our very own Willow Park ladies, Teena Gowdy and Michelle Greer, who will be sharing their stories with us. On Saturday we will have a couple of optional workshops available as well as lots of free time for you to go for a walk, nap, read by the lake, do crafts or play games.

Kaela McKaig
Kaela is a former elite athlete and National Champion who now serves as a Christian mentor, and Bible teacher. Following God’s lead, she can now see the path created by her journey. Host of the “His Word My Walk” podcast and newly broadcasting TV show, and creator of “Bible Journaling Bootcamp”, Kaela’s desire is to share with you how to have a growing real relationship with the Lord, and confidently walk out His truth in your everyday life. Kaela will be sharing with us on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

Teena Gowdy
Teena was born in Louisiana, raised in California. She was the middle child of six siblings… and the most extroverted! Her dad was a labourer with the southern Pacific railroad and her mom did different jobs while raising her children. Teena joined the ministry at 18 years old left home the same year she graduated… and never looked back! She served in full-time ministry for over 10 years, married Paul and then moved to Canada. Teena and Paul have four grown children and six grandchildren. She retired from Interior Health two years ago and is now dedicating and enjoying her creative roots through various outlets. Teena will be sharing her story with us during our Friday evening session.

Michelle Greer
Michelle is a proud mother of four beautiful children and has been happily married for 18 years. After a few storms in life and some wrong turns, she found Jesus’ salvation. She has attended Willow Park church for over 20 years. During our Saturday morning session, Michelle will share her testimony and how she uses her faith to find strength and purpose in all circumstances and with a thankful heart.

Elaine Gonzales
Elaine Gonzales is a long time volunteer at Willow Park, a wife and mother of 5. She is passionate about “doing life” together and discussing the important… and often hidden stuff. At one of our Saturday workshops, Elaine will introduce you to a book called “The Great Sex Rescue” by Sheila Wray Gregoire. This book is based on a groundbreaking in-depth survey of 22,000 Christian women and discusses how generations of women have grown up with messages about sex that are unhealthy. “The Great Sex Rescue” hopes to turn all of that around, developing a truly biblical view of sex where mutuality, intimacy, and passion reign.

Ian Donn
Artist Ian Donn was born in Scotland and moved to Canada in 1991. It was only after a career disappointment in Canada and a long struggle with depression that he found a message of hope and translated it into his first significant painting called “The Intercessor.“ Donn’s canvas became the vehicle he used to share that message of healing and hope. His original painting “Shame to Glory” was the first of a complete six part series called “The Healing Bride”: the paintings from “Hidden” to “Covered” detail the steps in the artists’ journey toward transformation. Ian Donn will be one of our workshop presenters on Saturday. He will be sharing his artwork and our hope is that this workshop will encourage you in your own journey towards personal wholeness.
