Update from Pastor Phil – September 16, 2022

More Info

Hi Willow Park Church.

I think we know that the last 2.5 years have been incredibly challenging. But one thing we want to do this weekend at Highway 33 is take a moment and remember and give thanks for those in our congregation who, through the pandemic, passed away. There are those people of course that we haven’t been able to celebrate or remember. And so we’re going to take a moment and remember, I believe it’s in the terms of about 18 people, that over the last two years have gone to be with the Lord and have experienced that moment when they have been greeted by the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. We want to give thanks. We want to remember their lives. And so this Sunday will be very special from that point of view. And that will be led by myself and Pastor Curtis for a few minutes within the main service.

But I also want to remind you that it’s Baptism Sunday. The last I heard we had perhaps 30 plus people who want to be baptized. So we could be baptizing anywhere in the range between 30 and 50. And we’re excited about that because it shows that our church is alive and well and that God is moving. So I want to encourage you to join us at Green Bay at three o’clock. Now if you have problems getting to Green Bay, there is a bus leaving here at two o’clock. Be sure to contact us or turn up at two o’clock to get that bus to Green Bay because we want everybody to be there. It’s going to be a lovely, simple time of testimonies, a little worship, a barbecue, then into the water and baptisms. Praise God! Not to be missed… make every effort to join us.

I’m going to continue this weekend preaching on the value of the church. And of course we understand that the church is God’s idea, we understand that Jesus said “I will build my church”. We know that He died for His church and the blood of Christ was shed for the church. And we know that the Lord loves the church and cares about the church and wants us to not be individualistic in our Christian worship, me and Jesus. He wants us to know that it’s part of being together, beautifully connected between us and Christ and Christ to the church and us in the church. In many ways, how the Trinity is beautifully connected together as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. So I’ll be pushing in deeper as to why the church and the values of the church and how God wants to use you in the church of God. Incredibly inspiring, and for me, I just love the church, the Bride of Christ, because it’s there to bring hope in a very dark world.

So three things: remembrance, baptisms and this week, the church, why the church, the value of the church.

See you this weekend.
