First of all, I want to thank you all for your generosity for our “Hope for Kelowna” appeal. It’s going really well. We’re around $45,000 as I speak to you now, which means with the matched funds it will be $90,000 going towards evangelism, mission and outreach. Getting ready to declare the good news of Jesus. Now, it’s not too late. We have one more weekend coming up and if you are able to contribute it will be matched. And let’s see if we can reach beyond that $100,000 figure, that would be amazing.

And let’s believe that then we can sow and work consistently in mission and reach out and see people give their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said in the great commission, “Go ye therefore into all the world”. And our commandment is to go into the world. But of course by going, what propels us? It’s the power and the work of the Holy Spirit that comes into the church and guides the church and leads the church.

But how do we engage with the life and the power of the Holy Spirit? Well, on the day of Pentecost, of course they were praying. And we will be praying this Sunday evening. Worship and prayer, 5:30 pm at Highway 33. Let’s all gather together the eve before Halloween, which of course is the darkest day of the year. And there we want to pray as watchman on the wall and we want to declare the good news of God. We want to declare His grace and His power and we want to have His good news. But everything we do needs to be propelled by prayer. So let’s make a special effort to come out on the eve before Halloween, worship together, pray together, stand together. And as we come to the end of our “Hope for Kelowna” appeal, we can give thanks together that God has provided all of our needs. That the Lord has been faithful and that we can pray about the next months, the next year, of how we can effectively evangelize and bring good news and bring hope into the world.

By the way, we still need candy for Fall Festival. So if you’ve got the opportunity to go and to purchase candy, that would be fantastic for the children’s department. We need volunteers. The best way to get connected to church is always to volunteer. So, a lot going on.

Let me remind you the “Hope for Kelowna” appeal is continuing this last weekend. Let remind you our church is built on prayer. Let me remind you, let’s pray for the eve of Halloween as we step in and for the Fall Festival, Monday night. We want to see families from all of our community coming and joining in at Willow Park Church. If it’s raining, even better. Can you imagine? Because everything needs to be indoors. That’d be amazing. So come and join us and be blessed. Thanks for listening.
