Hi Willow Park Church. We’re looking forward to another great weekend.

Before I talk about the weekend, can I remind you to keep praying for all of our youth? We had a fantastic Jr. High Ark. It was amazing. The young people were worshiping right the way to 12 at night on Thursday evening as they engaged with the Lord and as they worshipped. And of course this week has been Sr. High. So let’s keep praying that the Lord will work in the lives of our Sr. High’s. I mean in this generation with so many pressures, with so many distractions, that they will truly encounter the reality of Christ and the power of the Gospel to change their lives.

We continue this weekend, of course with ministry and as we follow “The Jesus Code”. Looking at the covenants, understanding how we see Jesus in the Old Testament and understanding how we can be sure about the biblical text. So this weekend we’ll be talking about “fact or fiction”, when we look at the Old Testament and we look at Genesis, fact or fiction.

I know that so many people have doubts about the reality of the Bible. And yet we know what Jesus believed, we know what the apostles taught, we know the grand story of God. And our aim is this: that you will have confidence in the story of God. We’re moving through. We’ve looked at the fall, we’ve looked at what God did about evil. And if you have some time, log on if you haven’t heard the sermons and listen to the teaching. It is really important in this day and age that we understand that we can have confidence in the whole narrative and the whole story of God, His redemption. We don’t just chop it up and throw away this bit and that bit. But we can have confidence from Genesis to Revelation. We can have confidence in the covenants that God set and we can have confidence that Jesus Christ is at the heart of the message and the heart of the story.

Finally, I’d like to share with you a project that we’ve been working on and that is Pursuit School… online. This is available for people who want to grow in ministry, want to be discipled and want to learn how to understand the Bible better, learn how to lead in a more effective way, understand how the Bible is put together, how to share our faith, how to understand spiritual gifts, how to tell stories. The curriculum is massive and we are making it available online so that individuals can join Pursuit School online, enjoy the classes and then also have mentoring so that you’re able to grow in your faith and be effectively discipled. This is coming… watch out for it and we’re looking forward, because we’ve got to be about equipping people and understanding that God wants to take our gifts, our talents and abilities and use us.

So have a great weekend, enjoy the weather and we’ll see you on Sunday.
