Hello Creekside family. This is Pastor Jeremy with a quick video message for you. This past Sunday we started our series, “The Jesus Code”, and hopefully you enjoyed that first message. If you missed it, you can watch it by clicking on the link in this email below.
We started off by looking at the first covenant right at the beginning in Genesis where God created Adam and Eve and in the garden. And then He made this covenant to have life with them. And so we want to see, as we look through this series, that God still keeps His covenants. And we get to see the whole beautiful story of what He is doing to redeem us. And we want to see the covenants that come alongside of that, that really are the backbone of the Bible.
And so this past Sunday again, the tree of life is what we want to grasp ahold of. We need to remember that even today we have the choice to come to the tree of life. And I know that the tree of the world, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is still out there, and still kind of calling us to it. But we want to come close to Jesus. And we have this choice to choose the Spirit over the flesh. And it’s a daily choice. And we see that in Romans 8 where it says it’s about a daily choice to choose the Spirit over the flesh. And so that represents coming to the tree of life who is Jesus. And then there’s this promise of eternity that we’ll be with God again. And then we will be at the center of the tree of life where we can eat freely of it forever.
And so I encourage you today, draw close to the tree of life. If you feel down, if you feel away, if you feel the weight of the world coming upon you, draw to Him, the tree of life, the true vine, Jesus.
This Sunday Doug Wiebe is going to be speaking. It’s going to be exciting to have Doug back on the stage sharing with us again.
I will be at Pines Bible Camp. You can still sign up to go to Pines. Well you might have missed it. And so hopefully I’ll show you some videos and some photos and that’ll be all good. But next year, put it in your calendar, don’t miss out. Family camp at Pines Bible Camp.
And then also on August 14th we’re going to have a baptism service and a barbecue. And so if you’re interested in being baptized, please reach out to me. You can reach out by email or you can phone me.
Also the barbecue is going to be to celebrate, or to prepare, obviously to celebrate the baptisms that happened. But also it’s going to be a fundraiser for the Back to School Give-away. And usually we have our Soup Sundays, and you drop money in, you know, to help cover the cost of the soup. For this, any money that’s given during the barbecue is going to go straight to the Back to School Give-away to help put clothes on those in need within our community.
So that’s all I have. That’s a pretty good video I think. Enjoy the rest of your day, enjoy your weekend. Hope to see you at Pines Camp. But don’t miss hearing Doug.
Alright, have a good one.
