Hello Creekside family. This is Pastor Jeremy with a quick video message for you.
Well we are into the New Year and hopefully it’s been going well for you so far. It was great to start off our New Year meeting together as a church family. And I brought a message, obviously, in regards to resolutions, but we talked about Colossians 3 where Paul is talking to the church. And the three things that encouraged the congregation, encouraged us to do, and what I’ve been doing, is to re-examine this past year and think about the things you want to retain things you want to release, the things you want to remember that can continue to carry you on through this new year. And so I hope that as you reflect on this year, you want to retain the things that you’ve already put into practice this past year. Sometimes we’re like, “I did that” and we let it go. But it’s still good for our walk with Christ. And I mentioned like taking that Sabbath is really good, something I want to continue to retain in this year. Release. There’s some things that you need to let go of, some of the bad habits, some things that maybe you’re like, I want to change from this and maybe things in your life personally that you’re going through that you’re like, “oh Lord, I need to lay this down at your feet.” So we want to release those to the Lord. Then we want to remember because remembering is good for the soul. The good and the bad because there’s so many things as we move forward and it continues to push us towards Christ. And so you can watch this message on the link on this email if you missed it this Sunday.
Now there’s a lot of things happening in January. First, starting Sunday January 8th , 21 Days of Prayer. This is one of my favourite times of the year, you know, I’m just stealing that from Christmas. But I’m excited for this church family thing that we do to begin the year, 21 days. I encourage you to fully engage in this. It will be a spectacular way to start your year. So January 8th it begins. There’ll be email blasts that you can sign up for, where you have a daily devotional. There’s a morning prayer time that’s going to happen starting at 7 am on the weekdays of the 21 Days of Prayer … not on the weekends. And so, and then we’re going to wrap it up on January 29th with a WillowOne Prayer event.
Also at our campus on January, I believe it’s the 11th, which is a Wednesday, our “Warm-Hearted Wednesdays” are going to begin. This is for people of all ages. It will be from 1 to 3 pm. It’s a time to make this winter pass a bit, with relationships with people within our congregation. Bring some games, you can bring your food, bring some tea, there’ll be coffee and it’s for anyone of all ages. Your kids can come and play. I know you’re starting school but there’s some homeschooler groups and we have some young young kids in our congregation. This is going to be a great time to connect.
We also will have on January 15, and like you see me remembering the days as I look up to the sky asking the Lord for help, is going to be our Baptism Class that we’re going to have. And so you can sign up on this link on the email. And also on January 29 we will have our baptisms.
So that’s all I got. I’m excited to see you this Sunday. We’re going to talk about prayer and answered prayer as we kick off a new series. So see you later. Have a good rest of your week.
