Hey South friends. It’s great to be able to share just a few things with you. Whether you’re watching on social media or you are reading this as part of an email, then just give me a couple of minutes and we’d love to highlight a few things that are going on in the life of the church right now. And a couple of things that are coming up that I know you’re going to want to know about.

First of all, yesterday, at time of filming, was the end of our October fall fundraiser, “Hope for the City”. And if you remember, we were aiming to raise $50,000 to go towards Living Nativity and other outreach events throughout the year. And I’m delighted to say that we raised $50,000, which is unbelievable, like exactly $50,000. And then a generous donor has committed to double that to match it. So now we’re at $100,000, which is incredible. So now we have this amazing outreach war chest to be able to use to do just a phenomenal Living Nativity now this year and in the future and then also other outreach things throughout the year. So thank you, thank you. Your generosity just blows my mind… it’s so, so good.

And talking about saying thank you, we have a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner that’s coming up on November 12 and we’re excited to be able to gather as many volunteers together as possible. You can register online. There’s going to be a lovely meal and it’s just going to be a really good time as a thank you. So Southies, if you volunteer in any way at all, then this is for you. Please go on the website and register right there.

And again, volunteers, we need them for Living Nativity. There are so many different places that we need help. And there are so many different ways you can help, whether it be in the car lot or you could be singing, or you can be behind the scenes. So you don’t need to be up front, you can be up front. We’re looking for people to help in the Great Hall. So there’s lots of different opportunities. So please go on our website and register for that. And if you do that, then you can come to the Volunteer Dinner. So you get an immediate thank you, which is incredible.

This Sunday I am sharing about communion, Eucharist, the Lord’s Supper, breaking bread. All these different terms that we use. We’re going to be talking about how this practice is so important to us in our lives. So please come along and listen to that. Last Sunday we had a lovely time together talking about Lectio Divina the meditation process through scripture and silence and solitude. It’s just been so, so good. So please come this Sunday. Online Church starts at 11:30 am. It’s just the message only, 11:30 am just to hear the message live this Sunday, and we’re really looking forward to seeing you.

Oh, and I should say about membership really quickly. I gave a big push about membership this last Sunday. We really want to see, well, I’m praying for 100 new members from the South. There, I said it. 100 new members from the South. Please go to willowparkchurch.com/membership to find out some more information and how to become a member. It’s really easy. It’s really important that you have a voice in the future of the South, as well as committing to this highly biblical part of Christianity, which is being a member of local church.

Anyway, I’ve taken up too much of your time already, so God bless you. Look forward to seeing you this weekend. Take care.
