This Christmas things will look a bit different.

As we all know, for many years Willow Park Church has had an incredible, annual Christmas tradition called Living Nativity. This year, because of COVID-19, our 30th anniversary will not look the way we expected.

This year, instead of inviting the Okanagan to come to us, we instead want to walk out our doors and go out to the people that call the Okanagan valley home. This year we present "The Gift of Christmas!"

What is "The Gift of Christmas"?

The Gift of Christmas is an opportunity for us to bring the real heart of Christmas to our community.

Through acts of servicegiving gifts and singing we want to share the heart of Jesus.

The aim of The Gift of Christmas is to reach out to the many individuals in our community who find themselves alone this time of year.

We will be partnering with some fantastic organizations that are continually providing care for the most vulnerable in our community. Those organizations include the Kelowna Gospel Mission, Metro Community, the John Howard Society, various seniors’ homes throughout Kelowna, The Okanagan Gleaners and the Pregnancy Care Centre.

Over the Christmas period, we will have three different ways to bring The Gift of Christmas to the Okanagan community.

The Gift of Christmas aims to provide 300 Christmas Stockings to individuals in our community who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to open gifts on Christmas morning

Step 1: Sew a Stocking

On November 8 we will have stocking kits available for pickup at our weekend services. If you did not get a packet, you can download the sew-a-stocking instructions here.

Take the fabric packets home and fire up your sewing machines. Those who can sew, this is your moment!

Please return the completed stockings to the church office between November 23-26, 9 am - 3 pm, or on Sunday November 29,  am - 12 pm.

Step 2: Shop

On Sunday November 29 & December 6 you can come by the church to pick up a stocking to fill. Please return the filled stockings on either December 6 or December 13. Pick up & drop-off locations are:

• Hwy 33: Sundays, 9 am - 12 pm
• South: Sundays, 9 am - 12 pm
• Lake Country (Pastor Jeremy's House): Sundays, 9 am - 5 pm

We are encouraging everyone to take 1 or more empty Christmas stockings home and fill them with items that will bless the recipients on Christmas morning. Each stocking will contain a list so that people to know how best to fill them. People with the gift of shopping, this is YOUR moment!

Return the filled stockings on or before Sunday December 13.

Step 3: Deliver

On our week-long mission to our community, we will be taking the Gift of Christmas stockings to all of the charities we have partnered with where they will be handed out as a gift from us to the community!

We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Keep an eye out for more information coming soon. Questions? Contact Pastor Jordan at or call/text 250.571.8721.

Living Nativity is on the move! Volunteer today! [click here to learn more]

Because indoor gatherings are not happening at this time, we are bringing the sights and sounds of Living Nativity to neighbourhoods around Kelowna and Lake Country this Christmas (December 17-23)!

In order to do this we need lots of volunteers, including carollers, mannequins (people to dress up like Mary, Joseph & Shepherds), setup/tech crew and construction people.

How to get involved

First off, we encourage you to pray about how best you can partner with us this Christmas. If you can, there is nothing better than finding a way to donate your time and energy during this busy holiday season. We encourage you to pray about signing up for one or two of the opportunities mentioned above.

If you are in a position and would like to donate, we would be very much appreciative of whatever gift you would like to give. Each Gift of Christmas Stocking will be priced between $40 - $50, and you can "purchase" filled stockings by donating below.

We believe that this event's joy will come from going out, purchasing items and praying for whoever will receive the items. If you cannot get out and shop, please consider donating.

If you would like to make a general donation to "The Gift of Christmas", we would be very appreciative.
