Having grown up as a “pastor’s kid” and having served in other churches, I can’t think of a better place to learn & serve God together, than the experience my wife Karolyn & I (and our 3 kids) have had here at Willow Park. Some would say that I’m biased, and maybe I am, but God is doing some great things among us! Willow Park is a 60-year-old congregation that has the energy & drive of a church plant! The desire to see people come to faith in Christ, to see marriages saved, relationships healed, and personal healing take place in people’s lives has been so incredibly fulfilled in these past several years.
My main responsibility and privilege, is to communicate God’s Word in our weekend services. This preaching ministry is the greatest joy in my week.
Beyond that, I am privileged to serve in the role of overall leadership and vision-casting, alongside our great staff team and a committed group of elders. Together, we seek God’s direction for this local expression of His family!
It’s hard to believe it – but on the personal front, Karolyn and I are quickly approaching that “empty nest” stage of life. Our oldest two will be off to college in the fall of ‘07, leaving us with a grade 12 student at home, and looking at each other wondering where the years went! We praise God for 3 great kids, who all are pursuing God’s direction for their lives.
A family favorite is a huge bowl of popcorn and a great video! The greatest battle right now, is the fight against my growing “pastor’s tummy” which I’m trying to fight by pounding the pavement 3-4 times a week! I could always stop eating…but…..not!
