2012 India Construction Team
Overview
This short-term missions experience will take you to the Shanti Niketan children’s home in northern India. As a construction team you’ll be partnering with 20 other teammates from Westside Church (Vancouver), Metro Community Church (Kelowna), SunRidge Church (Westbank), and Willow Park Church (Kelowna), all working hard for two weeks repairing and improving the Shanti Niketan property—there is much to be done!
After a hard day’s work, your evenings will be filled playing with the children, worshipping alongside them in chapel services, and maybe even helping them with their homework. When the Indian sun sets and the children head to bed, you’ll head back to the Continental Victoria Hotel in Sabhathu for a well-deserved sleep, resting for a fast-approaching morning.
Before heading home to Canada, you’ll also have the opportunity to visit the famous Taj Mahal in Agra.
Trades experience is an asset; great work ethic is a requirement!
Proposed Work Projects
- Build a roof on the new school (additional floor to the current school)
- Replace the front of the chapel / expand the chapel
- General property maintenance (painting, brick laying)

Cost
Approximate Cost = $4000 per adult
