Saltmine is returning to Kelowna!
Dec 07, 2011
As you may remember, recently three of our community pastors ran the London Marathon to raise funds to bring the Saltmine Theatre Company from the UK back to Kelowna. Saltmine was here last year performing "The Screwtape Letters".
We are pleased to announce that they will be returning January 30 - February 3, 2012.
Saltmine will be presenting two free family productions throughout the valley, with various showings of each. Please watch our web site for details on show dates as we get closer to the end of January. For now, here is a little more information on both productions.
A Long Road Home
A Long Road Home is an action-packed adventure that brings the story of the Prodigal Son to life in ways you will have never seen before. It highlights the themes of acceptance and unconditional love in an exciting and accessible way. The show is suitable for all ages.
The story is about Bert and Horace, who own a scrap-yard. They collect all the rubbish that the world doesn't want, but one day they're very surprised to stumble upon a young man called Jack, who's living in their yard. Join Bert and Horace as they hear Jack tell his story of how he has taken his inheritance and left his home to explore life in the big city, leaving a heartbroken dad and a furious brother. His new life of freedom starts well enough, but soon he finds the more sour side of it and starts to wonder whether he's really made the right decision after all...
"A Long Road Home" will be showing at various churches throughout the Kelowna area. For more information, contact at 250.765.6622.
