From the Collins

Jul 09, 2010

Dear church family,

Firstly, can we pass on our thanks to all those generous people who have been helping us with our transition here in Kelowna. Thank you for the kind hospitality - keep it coming ... we like Canadian food and are eager to meet lots of people.

We now have a house and as of Wednesday this week we are residents of Princess Road in Rutland; Black Knight looks magnificently down on us. Our shipment from the UK has yet to arrive; the children need to be reunited with their toys, we need to furnish our new home, and I look forward to being reunited with my books. (I have been raiding Pastor Brian's office for his theological wisdom.)

We continue to welcome your prayers, being aware that we are firmly in the centre of God's will, but as so many have said it is a massive adjustment and we need the presence of God. It continues to be a emotional adjustment, but technology is making it a little easier.

Excitement fills my soul about leading Highway 33 - we have prayed for the church for months and to be here now is wonderful. I look forward to the next months of listening to the congregation, continuing to preach and plan for the future. It was so good to see people get right with God last weekend and respond to His call; may we enter a season of fruitfulness. I love the Wednesday morning prayer meeting with the men (join us at Rutland campus at 6:30 am, then breakfast after) to focus on the needs of the church in prayer, which is critical for our future. I am planning regular prayer days away over the next weeks - seeking the Father's heart for our area.

We have such an amazing team, with Brian, Nancy, Joel, Tanya and Marilyn and of course their teams & staff. We are planning two days away in September to talk and pray and seek God for the mission He has given us; please keep the team in your thoughts.

Thanks again - do keep praying for our family and our church family.

Much Love,

- Phil & Michelle

I welcome you to WP church. I go to WPS and at the current moment I am in the hospital. I hold your whole family in my prayers as they become adjusted to our climate and all the 'new' experiences they will have.

God bless you. I have enjoyed watching your first couple of sermons.

In prayer,
